If you play mobile games in Indonesia, you have almost certainly touched Mobile Legends. Nine years after launch it is still one of the most-opened apps in the country β and not just because it is free.
Matchmaking: better, not perfect
Since last year’s rank overhaul, Legend players no longer meet fresh Grandmasters. Matches feel more competitive and average length rose from 12 to 15 minutes. Solo queue still hands you two marksmen and no roamer, though β duoing is far more stable if you actually want to climb.
Hero balance
The 2026 meta leans on initiating tanks: Tigreal, Khufra and Atlas are back at the top. Newcomers like Lukas dominate early game, while hyper-carry marksmen such as Ixia need clean team protection. Moonton has also started fixing older heroes β Fanny no longer auto-wins if you can land her cables.
Graphics and performance
On a mid-range phone the game holds 45-60 fps at medium settings. The 120 fps mode only makes sense on flagships and drains battery fast. Map loading is much quicker than two years ago, though the lobby still stutters on skin animations.
Monetisation
Nothing sold affects damage or cooldowns, which keeps MLBB competitively fair. Skin and diamond event prices keep climbing, however. If you are easily tempted, set a monthly budget and stick to it.
Verdict
MLBB does not have the best graphics on the market, but its match system, tournament ecosystem and community are the most mature in Indonesia. New players should spend 50 Classic matches before touching ranked. 8.8/10.
